In an effort to improve the water use efficiency of residential turf areas at the Cherrywood HOA in San Leandro, Pacific Water Management’s Bob Costa will be coordinating a pilot program with Toro’s new Precision Spray Nozzle. According to Costa, the objective of the program is to evaluate the performance of the nozzle and compare its water use to similar areas irrigated with Toro’s standard fixed spray nozzle .The goal of the nozzle retrofit is to improve the application uniformity, reduce runoff and save water. If the nozzle conversion proves to be successful, Costa intends to subsidize a portion of the cost through rebates provided by EBMUD.
